I started my apprenticeship with my father, a time served joiner and builder, whilst attending a local joinery workshop where I was taught the finer techniques and skills of working with timber. After spending the quality time with my father, it was time for me to set up for my self.
With some fairly big footprints to follow, my career as David J Clayton (joiner and builder) began!
It has been 10 years since that day when I stepped out to greet my first paying customer and I am happy to say that I am as keen now as I was back then. My uniqueness that I bring to the job is to be understanding of your needs, to be courteous and respectful, but most of all TIDY!!
Although joinery is the first and foremost qualification, I have extended my knowledge of the building trade to be proficient at most of the skills required in a time served tradesman. Along with the afore mentioned skills, I have extended my business in to other areas that I now specialise in, such as laminate flooring and kitchen fitting.
My approach to my work is very methodical and I will discuss all aspects of the work to be undertaken so you know exactly what to expect.
